Media in Basque language.

Basque language in media has a big space in media nowadays, which is great for our language and at the same time for our culture because thanks to the media it is spreading throw all over the world.

Can we imagine for a while the tv, radio, internet... without anything in our own langugae? It would be like it didn't exist. So, we see clearly that it's very important for a language to have the resource of the media to give, lets say, a kind of privilege to it.
If we have to find something negative, we have to say that taking into account the Tv, the programation is quite poor.

The media have to try to catch all type of audience so that's why we have many options in Spanish, but here we only have one channel in Basque and almos all programs are related with sports, news or cultures or cartoons for kids. Teenagers in general dont find interesting the programation so it has not a lot of teenage audience.

But is remarkable that in general we have a lot of choices to enjoy of our language.

How affects the technology in our language?

We both see clearly that with the evolution of technology the language is changing too, especially with the usage of the Internet in our daily life.

There are new ways of communication like are the chat, email or different social networks and this affects, as David Crystal says, in the language style, puntuation system, spelling...

Everything around the world is constantly developing and the language has to adapt also. But at the same time, taking into account the language in its grammatical way it's not evolving too much.
